The myasthenia gravis (MG) community kicked off MG Awareness Month in June with a fun-filled virtual event that raised national awareness for MG.
MG supporter and MasterChef season one winner Whitney Miller† hosted the event, which was headlined by celebrity chef Sean Brock,† who lives with MG. Chef Brock connected with members of the MG community as he taught them an MG-friendly recipe and shared his own MG story.
MG United also revealed its first-ever interactive experience and celebrated its one-year anniversary. The event was capped off with landmark lightings that stretched from Zakim Bridge in Boston, Massachusetts, to the Pacific Wheel Ferris wheel in Santa Monica, California.

Chef Sean Brock brought his Southern flair to MG Illuminate during an MG-friendly cooking demo.
Chef Brock prepared Southern fish and grits with a group of MG community members and chatted with them about why he loves cooking, and the challenges of chewing and swallowing with MG.
Chef Brock shared how he changed his entire mindset as a professional chef since his MG diagnosis in 2016. His kitchen in his signature restaurant, Audrey, optimizes self-care and a stress-free work environment so he can continue to pursue his lifelong passion of cooking while living with MG.
MG United revealed its new, interactive timeline, Myasthenia Gravis: A Living History.
The timeline brings the history of MG to life with milestones, cultural events and prominent figures to illustrate how far the community has come.
